Proven 12-Step Philosophy of Care
Treatment at Ivory Plains is based on the 12-Step philosophy created by Alcoholics Anonymous, and it helps our clients develop a sense of hope and purpose. The program consists of 12 guiding principles or Steps that help individuals recognize their powerlessness over addiction, make amends for past behaviors, and commit to ongoing personal improvement.
Many types of 12-Step support groups are based on the idea that addiction is a chronic disease that individuals can’t completely overcome alone, and they emphasize the need for spiritual growth—however you choose to define it—and social support. So an extension of this approach is to participate in regular meetings with an understanding peer group, as this demonstrates a focus on personal responsibility and accountability. It also promotes the idea of helping others in recovery, which can strengthen your commitment to staying sober.
The 12-Step approach has been adapted for various types of addiction, including narcotics, gambling, and other compulsive behaviors, making it one of the most versatile and enduring frameworks for addiction recovery.
We also believe that recovery from AUD and SUD should involve mind, body, and spirit healing, so we build upon your treatment experience with holistic options for the best possible outcome. This includes learning more about healthy living techniques such as improving your sleep hygiene and nutrition to knowing how to manage chronic pain in recovery or adapting new skills through habit stacking.
You’re more than just your symptoms. At Ivory Plains, we strive to help you discover whole-person wellness.
Addiction Recovery Services We Offer
Knowing what to expect at an addiction treatment center helps eliminate the fear of the unknown. Here’s a brief look at what you’ll find at Ivory Plains Recovery Center.
Medically Managed Detoxification
While it’s understandable that this initial phase of treatment concerns a lot of people, it shouldn’t.
- First, not every person requires it—it all depends on the level of addiction, substances used, and for how long.
- Second, our detox program is doctor-managed and supervised 24/7 by licensed nurses and support staff.
On average, detox lasts about 10–15 days. Afterward, many people are ready to move forward with other aspects of their recovery with a clearer mind and body. Learn more about what to expect with medical detoxification for SUD and AUD.
Residential Treatment
Our residential program, which is approximately 30 days or longer, emphasizes a structured community approach while establishing not only early recovery skills but also a long-term foundation for recovering adults. It’s a co-ed setting, tailored to meet the needs of our clients. You or a loved one receives:
- 12-step recovery, community-based meetings
- Early recovery skills development
- Extensive daily group programming
- Family counseling
- Individual therapy sessions
- Trauma-informed care
- Traumatic brain injury care related to addiction
Partial Hospitalization
Sometimes called day treatment, our partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers short-term intensive addiction treatment that is a step down from traditional residential care. PHP can be used as a transition between residential treatment and outpatient care or as a more structured alternative to outpatient programs. It lasts approximately 20 hours per week for several weeks and includes many of the same components as residential treatment.
Both residential and PHP programs also offer you comprehensive continuum of care plans, designed specifically for your needs in aftercare and relapse prevention services.
